With Excel template: different behaviour on local server and on remote server

Hello Skrol,

While using an Excel file (xlsx) as template with OpenTBS version 1.7.6, everything works perfectly on the local server (MAMP on my MacBookPro) and when I use the same files uploaded to my remote server, I get the following error:

"TinyButStrong Error in block's definition [a.COGNOME...]: at least one tag corresponding to tbs:row is not found. Check opening tags, closing tags and embedding levels."

Would you have an idea where could be the cause of this problem?

I've spent an hour trying to figure this out, without success.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: With Excel template: different behaviour on local server and on remote server

Reply to my own question

My scripts and templates were exactly the same on local and remote servers, BUT
the installed version of OpentTBS was different on local (version 1.7.6) and remote server (version 1.8.0beta).
Since my template was using the block alias "tbs:row", it could not be interpreted by version 1.7.6 of OpenTBS, since block alias are a new feature of version 1.8.0 of TBS.
Now everything works well.

By the way, when do you think the beta can be dropped from the 1.8.0 version?

OpenTBS 1.8.0 is already released.

Re: With Excel template: different behaviour on local server and on remote server

Hello,

"OpenTBS 1.8.0 is already released."

If so, I would suggest to change "OpenTBS 1.7.6" for "OpenTBS 1.8.0" in the section "Plug-ins provided by the TBS team" on the page "www.tinybutstrong.com/plugins.php".
In the link "Download" itself, just beside this line, there is no indication of which version will be downloaded. That's why I thought it was version 1.7.6, while once downloaded, one can see it is version 1.8.0.

Looking for the version 1.8.0 that I thought was still in beta, I found information about it on page "www.tinybutstrong.com/news.php":
"2013-05-04    Plug-in OpenTBS version 1.8.0 -> See the change log."
But there is no "Download" link on this line.

Finally I found a link "Download last version 1.8.0" on the page "Other tools".

OpenTBS seems to be the only software that is iisted both among "Plugins" and "Other tools".

By the way, I suggest to put some information on the plugin page about the compatibility of every plugin with the versions of TBS.
Also, looking at the plugin page, I wondered about the Excel plugin: Is all its functionality also provided by OpenTBS?"

Hope these few remarks can help more people to have easier access to all the good work you keep offering to us.

Jules
