New section for your website

Hi,

I know I saw sites that where made by tbs ones, but I couldn't find them just now so I wondered....

You don't seem to have a gallery of websites build by tbs.

That would be like good advertising. actually being able to see what the class can do in the hands of someone who didn't develop it.

If you find this a good Idea I can elaborate on what you could show, and a little ranking system and stuff. It might be a nice idea :D

You're welcome to give extra URLs.

An external application si welcome too :)

Here is my list:

http://www.degrootstekerstboom.nl
http://www.nullix.com.ar

Re: New section for your website

btw:

http://www.tabacojujuy.com.ar/
404

http://www.degrootstekerstboom.nl
Doesn't really show off what tbs can do :S

http://www.nullix.com.ar
If all is done with tbs, good site for the list

http://linux.multishops.com.ar
404

http://lesitamag.free.fr
Can't tell how good it is

----------------------------------
http://www.metalpics.ch
Very good if I say so myself :P

http://www.nelliesnellen.nl
when online, you'll see it clearly needed tbs, but it is a less stroong example then metalpics. but all the things from the shoppingcart would have been sooo much harder without templates.
I will let you know when it is online...

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

ok, I have some suggestions

You have this thread about unprofessional webdesigners.
I posted this there as well, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to give some hints here as well...

When in this forum I leave a line open between my texts this is also seen in  the post after it has been posted. I find it annoying to see my markup gone... I didn't put it in there without a reason.
So I suggest you use the nl2br function

Another suggestion is to set the background color of you website to white (or #FFFFFF) simply because the standard color for the background at my pc isn't white. This makes the site look funny a bit, and not the way you intended. You also might want to make sure the text color is specified too (if it wasn't)

Hope I helped

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

about http://www.brildrager.tk/

I have a Javascript error when opening the main page.
Line 18, char5
Error: parent.document.body has a null value or is not an object.
URL: http://members.lycos.co.uk/brildrager/index.php?

I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 french.

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

parent.document.body.cols = "100%,0/*";
That's line 18...

You don't use frames, or seem to use it, so that statement is not needed in this specific case...

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

Ow, I see what you are trying to do, remove the lycos banner on the right side of the screen.

try like this

if (parent.document.all['memberPage'])
   parent.document.body.cols = "*,0";

The test I put in will work for IE not Netscape, I leave it up to you to do that.

But euh, you shouldn't be doing this at all, buying a domain and srever space doesn't cost much at all nowadays http://www.dh2.net it costs only 4 dollars a month, that's less then 1 beer in some vacation places I know, and less then two beers in Amsterdam!! And dh2 rocks

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

Dude, you have the same designer as these guys.
Perhaps you should complain that they gave you the same design

http://www.multishops.com.ar/linux -> http://demo.cubecart.com/
http://www.planetalinux.com.ar/ -> http://www.phpbb.com/

I hope you got a better deal on the other ones...

RWD:

We have no relationship with multishops.com.ar . They eventually ripped (erm.. reused) ideas and designs from us.

Re: Updated TBS powered sites from Argentina

haha, well, I just saw a very strong similarity between that site and 'a' site I had seen onces (Like the vast majority of all humans I recall images pretty good) so I wanted to know if I had in fact seen it before.

Personally I think you'd better "reuse" a good idea/design than make a bad new one. But to be on the safe side I allways hire good designers whom I happen to know for the basic design and work out the rest myself, just to be on the safe side of copyrights and intellectual rights :P

PostNuke ripped by Cubecart

Yes, the CubeCart design, wich in turn ripped (erm.. reused) another well-known PostNuke theme...

Re: PostNuke ripped by Cubecart

I did art acedamie, and there the teachers used to say

-The secret to creativity is knowing to hide your sources
-You cannot be original, everything has been done, we only make slight variations
-I like your design but I would do it differently. And I did.

Some kind of SPIP-like system.

I think that SPIP is a real good idea, but the template system is too much complicated, at least more complicated than TBS one.

For the moment, the system is quite OK, but I didn't write the admin part. Of course, I will make it avalaible for everybody.

To be seen ASAP...
